23 Months Old

It is hard to believe our first born is almost 2! He has grown so much this past month. He is now sleeping in a car toddler bed some friends of ours gave us. He sometimes still gets out of it and walks around but we put a door knob holder on the door so he can't get out. He still sleeps through the night once he falls asleep, which is from 8pm to 7am. He naps from 1-3pm. His new words with signs are 'swing' and 'cup'. H also says Nana and PaPa. He has ventured out with new foods eating cornbread and pancakes (not together). He has gone from wearing size 5 shoes to 7. His new favorite video is of one that has actual trains. He also enjoys playing with his cars and lining them up. His cute light brown curls are getting fairly long. We may need to get his hair trimmed soon, especially with this heat.

1 Month Old

Wait for it.....okay now change his diaper. Preston is already teaching us patience. We have learned this past month that once he starts to "go" we need to wait about 5 minutes because one time is just the beginning. After going through 2-3 diapers in one change many times we figured him out. Preston is growing fast and really filling out. During the day he eats every 2 hours, sometimes 3. At night he has done quite well the last 2 weeks. He sleeps 4-5 hours the first stretch, eats, and then sleeps another 3-4. Now if I would just go to bed when he does, between 8-9pm, I would get more sleep. Preston grunts and squeaks as he wakes up and stretches. He also usually does this when he starts to get hungry or is working on pooping. This is a nice heads up for us, rather than immediately crying. His umbilical cord finally came off at about 3 weeks. He still has blue eyes and some reddish brown hair on the back of his head. He raises his left eyebrow at times (just like his mom can do). He loves to kick his legs and enjoys just being held and looking around the room. He has successfully taken a bottle 3 times now so it is nice to know we can have our first date in the near future.
