Liberty - 4 months old

Our cutie patootie is now 4 months old!  She weighs in at 16 lbs 3.5 oz.  She is 25 1/4 long.  (Just for a fun comparison Hallister was 15 lbs 9 oz, 25 1/2" long at this age and Preston was 25 1/2" long and weighs 16 1/2 pounds.)  Some brands of 3-6 month clothes still fit her but she fits comfortably in 6 month clothes now.

Liberty can now pull her pacifier out of her mouth.  She uses the same brand that Hallister liked, Nuk.  She can also roll from her back to her tummy.  She started to get red spots on her skin, similar to what Preston had, about 3 weeks ago.  We are going to try switching detergents to see if that helps.  The doctor said she must be allergic to something.

Liberty is such a happy baby, so content.  She loves to just be held and grip fingers or toys.  Jonathan got her to laugh real good while tickling under her chin.  Right now she is congested so she is sleeping in the bouncer again.  At this point the boys were getting teeth so we shall see if she does the same.  For now we are just so thankful she sleeps thru the night.

Officially Potty Trained

Our big 3 1/2 year old is officially potty trained. He has been going potty for 3 months now.  At first he would still occasionally poop in his pants or in bed, but he figured out quick that was pretty gross.  Up until 3 weeks ago he was still occasionally peeing in bed but that has stopped now too.  (We stopped giving him water after supper.) He will announce, "Mommy/Daddy I need to go potty." He just needs us to say "Okay go potty." He then goes into the bathroom by himself.  This is especially helpful when I am feeding Liberty.  He can go potty and wash his hands all by himself.  We are so proud of  him.  We let him pick out a Take-N-Play Thomas train set.  Of course his real treat is going to be riding the train at the San Antonio Zoo this week.

Copycat

Preston loves to copy Hallister.  He follows him from room to room imitating what he does.  It is really sweet to see.  Most of the time this consists of playing with trains.  thankfully Preston is pretty laid back, if Hallister takes something from him he just gets something else.  Hall is getting better about sharing though and will often announce, "I'm sharing." Sometimes though Hallister growls or lays down and throws  a fit....and yes you guessed it, Preston does the same.  We are hoping though it pays off with Hallister now going  potty.  Preston will follow him in the bathroom and stand on the stool in there.  Hopefully soon he gets interested in what he is doing on the potty.

Liberty's Dedication

Liberty was dedicated this past Sunday (3-4-12) at the church we attend, Antioch.  In the dedication ceremony, we, as parents, are asked if we will train our children in the way they should go, so when they are old they will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)
Certain members of the congregation are asked to pray for each child during the ceremony and share any words or promises they feel the Lord is speaking to our children.

The lady, Cheryl, that prayed for us shared this verse with us: "Praise the LORD.  Blessed are those who fear the LORD, who find great delight in his commands. Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed." Psalm 112:1-2.  So as parents Liberty will see that we fear the Lord and do our best to obey His commands.  Because of this she will be blessed.

Cheryl also saw a picture of nets being thrown out, just as the disciples "put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch". (Luke 5) The disciples were told, "Don't be afraid, from now on you will catch men."  We pray Liberty will come to know the Lord at an early age, and that she will share her faith, bringing many to follow Him.  Just as her name means "freedom", she will bring freedom to the lost, as they choose to turn from their sins and follow Him.
